Frustration of a confused voter

The election time is nearing and all attention shifts to the long-forgotten voting public (seeing and hearing all the newsreports, really?). The voter is now the target for all election campaign plans through any media that is humanly visible/audible and these days, also delectable! (what with Biryani packets finding their way to the taste buds of an otherwise famished voter!).

It is pay-back time for all the running the voters did to get their names included in the list and the poor Government school teachers did in trying to reach the ID cards roaming around the different and hopelessly confusing ‘blocks’ and streets - the 'rising-to-occasion (only)' campaigners now try to reach every nook and corner of their long-ignored constituency.

(What continues to astound me is the way the school teachers were employed in distributing the voter IDs when this could have been effectively done through a chartered postal service!! Reminds me of our very own IT industry where skills are deployed in tangential projects.)

As the temperatures soar and the election promises befuddle the voting public, the frustration only tends to grow and result in more such ramblings..

  1. Nicely written! Biriyani packets, hmmm. Way to every person's heart is through the stomach. Who is it going to be?
